A fresh, piney-woody note with a soft camphoraceous lift and a mild fruity-balsamic sweetness. Cleaner and less sharp than isobornyl acetate, with a subtle terpenic-conifer character that reads as forest-fresh rather than medicinal.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Colorless oily liquid.
Almost insoluble in water, poorly soluble in propylene glycol and glycerin, soluble in alcohol and oils.
Sweeter, fruitier and less harsh than the acetate. The turpentine odor type is still there, but it is softer and combined with almost lavender-like herbaceous notes.
Traces of this ester are occasionally used in flavor compositions for imitation fruit, e.g. strawberry, blackcurrant, etc.
Suggested for use in fougères, chypres, pine fragrances, citrus type colognes, lavender compositions for room sprays, etc.
