A soft floral-green aldehyde with a jasmine-lily character, reminiscent of butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial) but with a cinnamic-aldehyde backbone giving it a slightly waxy, muguet-like nuance. Fresh and diffusive on top, settling into a clean petally floralcy with a mild green edge.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Pale yellowish oily liquid.
Rather penetrating, oily-fatty, herbaceous odor. There are variations in the odor type in lots from different suppliers, and in lots of different age. Overall, the odor is less attractive than that of the n-Butylcinnamal.
The aldehyde has been suggested for use in perfume compositions as a modifier for the Amylcinnamal, but it is very doubtful if the iso-Butyl derivative will ever find application in perfumes. It does not contribute any unusual or very attractive notes to compositions.
Produced from beta-Iso-Propyl acetaldehyde (iso-Hexaldehyde) and Benzaldehyde by condensation.
