This is Musk Xylene (Musk Xylol), a classic nitro-musk. It smells sweet, warm and powdery with a soft animalic-musky character, faintly balsamic, with a clean laundered-linen facet. Very tenacious on blotter and used historically as a fixative, though now largely banned in fragrance for toxicity/persistence reasons.AI · claude-opus-4-7
