Solubility

Insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol, miscible with perfume oils.

Odor

Powerful weedy-camphoraceous-minty odor with a herbaceous undertone, including some sweetness, but not enough to call the material overall pleasant smelling.

Uses in perfumery

Has been suggested for use in perfume compositions, but could possibly only find some use in artificial essential oils, e.g. Geranium.

Production

Produced by condensation of Citronellal with Cyclopentanone.
