Ortho-cresol methyl ether (methyl 2-methylphenyl ether / 2-methylanisole) has a warm, sweet phenolic-anisic character with a spicy, slightly medicinal edge reminiscent of methyl anisate crossed with a mild tar/creosote note. It sits between anise, clove-like spice and a soft phenolic warmth, with a faintly nutty aromatic undertone.AI · claude-opus-4-7
