sweetwoodyfruity

A rich ionone-adjacent aroma chemical with a violet-floral character wrapped around soft woody and slightly fruity facets. Reminiscent of beta-ionone but with more depth and a warmer, slightly ambery-woody undertone; develops a powdery violet-wood impression on dry-down.AI · claude-opus-4-7

sweetwoodyfruity
Appearance

Colorless or pale yellowish oily liquid.

Odor

Sweet-woody, rather heavy odor, resembling that of bera-lonone. More fruity than really floral, but not as tenacious as the lonone.

Uses in perfumery

Suggested for use in perfume compositions, but since it does not offer any new or unusual odor characteristics, and it cannot be produced in economical competition to deta-lonone, there is little or no chance that it will ever become a standard shelf ingredient for the perfumer.

Production

Produced from beta-Cyclocitral and Acetaldehyde by condensation.
