Decyl ether is a very mild, faintly waxy-fatty solvent-like material with a soft, almost odorless character. It contributes a smooth, clean skin-feel more than a distinct scent, sometimes used as an emollient carrier rather than an active odorant.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Solubility

Insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol, miscible with oils.

Odor

Faint, oily-rosy odor of considerable tenacity. The odor of the undiluted material is not really pleasant, but the effect of the Decyl ether in perfume compositions can be quite attractive.

Compliance note. Restriction data is sourced directly from IFRA publications and preserved with its document excerpt. Perfume Foundry is a compliance-support tool — not a substitute for a qualified safety assessor (CPSR / PIF).
