A fresh, citrusy-green aroma chemical with a soft floral-melon nuance. Reminiscent of dihydromyrcenol territory — bright and slightly soapy, with a clean, airy lift that fades into a mild herbal-floral undertone.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Appearance

Colorless or very pale straw-colored oily liquid.

Solubility

Almost insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol and oils, slightly soluble in propylene glycol.

Odor

Sweet and rosy, oily odor of moderate to poor tenacity.

Uses in perfumery

This alcohol has been suggested for use in perfume formulations as a modifier for the conventional rose alcohols. It lends more natural oiliness and it is quite powerful when compared to citronellol and dimethyloctanol.
