Appearance

Colorless liquid.

Solubility

Almost insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol and oils.

Odor

Fresh, green (foliage-type) rosy odor, not very tenacious.

Uses in perfumery

This ester is very rarely offered commercially and has, in the author's opinion, little more than academic interest. It is too expensive for what it has to offer, but it may occasionally find its way into various artificial essential oils.

Production

Produced by esterification of Ethanol with Citronellic acid.
