sweetmusky

A soft, natural-smelling floral-green material with a rosy-geranium character and a mild fruity nuance. Cleaner and less sharp than geraniol itself, with a smooth waxy-fresh feel that bridges citrus tops into floral hearts.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Colorless oily liquid.

Solubility

Insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol, miscible with most oils.

Odor

Slightly rosy, sweet and delicately musky odor. Some observers find the odor so weak, that it is classified as 'musky' just for that reason. However, it has considerable odor value, clearly displayed when this material is blended with more volatile components.

Uses in perfumery

Has been suggested for use in perfume compositions as a fixative and modifier in rose perfumes, sweet-floral bases, etc.
