A soft, natural-smelling floral-green note with a rosy-honey facet reminiscent of phenylethyl alcohol but lighter and fresher. The acetal form is more diffusive and less sweet than the parent alcohol, lending a delicate, dewy petal impression that lifts floral accords.AI · claude-opus-4-7

This Acetal is used in perfume compositions to introduce the green notes reminiscent of the calice, upper leaves and crushed flower stems of Rose and other flowers. It blends very well with the conventional Rose materials, and its earthy-floral-green character makes it particularly suitable for Hyacinth fragrances. It is much softer than the Phenylacetaldehyde and its relatives, and has a distinctly floral character. As an Acetal, it is more stable in soap and other mild-alkaline media, while it quickly deteriorates in acid liquid.
Produced from Acetaldehyde diethylacetal plus Phenylethyl alcohol (e.g. by short-time boiling).
