Extremely powerful sulfurous, alliaceous material with a sharp onion/garlic-like pungency at full strength. On heavy dilution it opens into tropical-fruit facets reminiscent of passionfruit, blackcurrant bud and guava skin, with a persistent thiol edge.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Odor

The odor of this ester has been described as onion-like, but the author believes, based upon personal studies, that a good commercial grade of this ester has little or no such odor. The odor may be slightly herbaceous, green-fruity, and not exceptionally pleasant.

Uses in perfumery

Apart from being a possible ingredient in cosmetic preparations, this ester is probably not being used in perfume or flavor formulations.
