A fresh, slightly camphoraceous fenchyl character softened by a fruity-buttery ester facet. Opens with a piney, terpenic woodiness reminiscent of fir and pine needles, drying down to a mild, clean herbal-woody note with a subtle sweet fruity undertone.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Appearance

Colorless liquid.

Odor

Fresh-herbaceous, slightly conifer-like odor of moderate tenacity. It bears some resemblance to the odor of fresh Valerian root — but less so than the n-butyrate.

Flavor

Slightly fruity, sweet-herbaceous taste with a root-like undertone.

Uses in perfumery

It could probably find some use in household fragrances, etc.

Production

Produced by hydration of Pinene including iso-Butyric acid in the acid treatment.
