sweetfloralgreenethereal

A fresh green-floral aroma chemical with a natural rosy-phenylethyl character, reminiscent of dewy hyacinth and lily-of-the-valley petals. Softer and rounder than phenylethyl alcohol, with a slightly leafy, watery-green facet that lifts floral accords.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Appearance

Colorless oily liquid.

Solubility

Very slightly soluble in water, soluble in alcohol and perfume oils.

Odor

Ethereal-green, yet sweet and slightly floral-rosy odor of poor tenacity. The greenness resembles that of foliage mixed with flowers, but it is somewhat gassy ethereal, not quite pleasant.

Uses in perfumery

Has been suggested for use in floral and non-floral fragrances to assist in producing true-to-Nature green foliage notes.

Production

Produced from Formaldehyde dimethylacetal plus Phenylethyl alcohol by short-time boiling.
