Colorless or pale straw-colored oily liquid.
Practically insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol and oils. Almost insoluble in propylene glycol and glycerin.
Refreshing, sweet-peachy, but also musky odor of considerable tenacity.
The taste is fruity, apple-peach-like, but not purely sweet, and the bitterness is perceptible even through the concentrations near the minimum perceptible of flavor.

Produced by several methods, e.g. from ethylene oxide plus geranyl malonic ester.
