A juicy, watery melon-pear note with a distinctive green, slightly aquatic freshness. Very diffusive at low levels, giving a natural ripe-fruit lift reminiscent of honeydew and cucumber peel, with a subtle creamy-buttery undertone from the isobutyrate ester.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Appearance

Colorless oily liquid.

Solubility

Insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol and oils.

Odor

Powerful, sweet, fatty-green, rather heavy odor. Under light, grassy notes there are fruity-floral, almost animal-heavy and quite tenacious nuances of nondescript character.

Production

Produced from cis-4-Heptenol by direct esterification with iso-Butyric acid under azeotropic conditions, or with iso-Butyric anhydride, using Phosphoric acid catalyst at slightly above room temperature.

Compliance note. Restriction data is sourced directly from IFRA publications and preserved with its document excerpt. Perfume Foundry is a compliance-support tool — not a substitute for a qualified safety assessor (CPSR / PIF).
