A soft, diffusive orange-blossom / neroli-like floral with a fruity-grape nuance and a subtle musky-waxy undertone. Rounder, warmer and less indolic than methyl anthranilate, with better tenacity and a creamy petal quality. Adds natural lift and body to white florals and neroli accords.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Appearance

Colorless or pale straw-colored viscous liquid.

Solubility

Insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol and oils, poorly soluble in Propylene glycol.

Odor

Sweet, woody-floral, somewhat green, but very weak odor, remotely reminiscent of Petit-grain.

Uses in perfumery

In the author's opinion, this ester is too weak and too deficient in characteristic notes to become a standard perfumery item.

Production

Produced from Isatuic anhydride and n-Heptanol. Also produced from Anthranilic acid and Heptanol, or from Methyl anthranilate and Heptanol.
