A soft fruity-waxy odor with a green, slightly balsamic character reminiscent of cognac and dried fruit. Heptyl furoate lends a rounded, jammy nuance with mild floral facets, useful as a subtle fixative-modifier in fruity and floral accords.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Colorless liquid.

Solubility

Insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol and oils.

Odor

Warm, somewhat caramellic-herbaceous odor of good tenacity. A complex of green-herbal and very sweet, deep notes produces an almost floral character.

Uses in perfumery

It could undoubtedly find use not only in the reconstruction of essential oils, but also as a modifier in modernized Lavender fragrances, in Jasmin variations, and in new odors for room fresheners, etc.

Production

Produced by direct esterification under azeotropic conditions.
