A fatty, waxy ester with a mildly fruity, oily character reminiscent of coconut and unripe fruit skins. Soft and rounded, with a slight green-aldehydic edge, it reads as a creamy lactonic-adjacent note rather than a bright fruit.AI · claude-opus-4-7

This ester finds a little use in perfumery mainly in light floral perfumes, and occasionally in Oriental fragrances as a companion to Opopanax-notes with which the ester blends excellently. It may also provide interesting topnotes in combination with Angelica seed oil or Cognac oil in herbaceous fragrance types.
The ester is occasionally used in flavor compositions (not in the U. S.A., not listed as G. R. A. S.) particularly in imitation Cognac flavors.
