Also known as Styrallyl Acetate — a fresh, green-floral note with a distinctive tropical gardenia character and a slightly fruity, almost tart facet reminiscent of unripe fruit peel. Sharp and diffusive on top, softening into a natural white-floral impression.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Colorless liquid.

Solubility

Almost insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol and oils.

Odor

Fresh-floral, slightly green and fruity odor with a Hyacinth-like note, remotely resembling that of Hydratropyl acetate.

Uses in perfumery

It could be used as a modifier in many floral or Oriental fragrance types, in Fougeres, etc. It is stable in soap and it is actually extremely versatile in its use, from distinctly floral to strictly herbaceous or green.

Production

Produced by direct esterification of the carbinol with Acetic acid e. g. under azeotropic conditions.
