A powerful fatty-aldehydic material with a bright, waxy orange-peel character. Reminiscent of C-11 and C-12 aldehydes but with a distinctive rounded, slightly sweet citrus-fatty facet. Very diffusive on first sniff, drying down to a soapy, clean-skin nuance.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Delicately floral, fresh aldehydic odor, much less fatty than Nonanal, more rosy, Lily-like.
This aldehyde is used with excellent effect by the few who really enjoy experimenting with unconventional materials. It creates floral-diffusive top-notes in a Lily or Muguet, freshness in Mimosa or Rose, and gives clean and airy topnotes to Citrus fragrances.
It finds some use in flavor compositions, mainly in Citrus types where it may partly or wholly substitute the conventional Nonanal. Concentration used is about 1 to 2 ppm in the finished product.
