Colorless liquid.

Solubility

Almost insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol and oils.

Odor

Powerful and very diffusive, gassy-green odor of poor tenacity. The greenness resembles that of certain Pelargonium leaves, but it is not attractive unless very highly diluted.

Production

Produced from Methyl-iso-butylketone via 4-methyl-n-pent-1-yne and its acid to the acetylenic ester.
