A softer, more diffusive aldehydic material than the parent aldehyde C-12 MNA — the diethyl acetal masks the sharp fatty edge and releases a mellower orange-peel, waxy-floral aldehydic character. Opens fresh and slightly citrus-rindy with a clean, soapy floralcy, drying down to a smooth waxy note.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Almost insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol and oils.
Sweet-ambre-like, mild and semi-dry odor of mildly cinnamic-balsamic undertone and good tenacity.
This acetal, commercially available under its proper name, has been suggested for use in perfume compositions as a support to the Aldehyde, and by itself as a novel note, applicable at much higher concentration than the Aldehyde. It introduces very pleasant tonalities with the Musks, Labdanum, Clary Sage absolute, Oakmoss and it can lift a good delicate Pine Needle fragrance out of the ordinary into the exquisite and very attractive perfumes.
Produced by condensation of Methylnonyl-acetaldehyde with Ethanol.
