A soft violet-leaf character with an earthy, slightly cucumber-green facet reminiscent of methyl heptin/octin carbonate but rounder and less sharp. Develops a powdery-floral quality with subtle woody undertones. Often used to give a natural violet nuance without the harsh green bite of shorter-chain analogues.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Floral-waxy, mildly green, but not very leafy odor of considerable tenacity.
This ester is of very little interest to the creative perfumer. It is mentioned in this work for the sake of including borderline materials and to describe uncharacteristic members of the well known ester series. The title ester lacks natural character and foliage greenness, but it is pleasantly floral and waxy at proper dilution. Useful for certain floral fragrances, Narcissus, Lily, etc., but the perfumer does not really need this ester.
Produced from Decylbromide and Sodium acetylide via 2-Undecyne sodium and with Methylchloroformate to the title ester.
