Moskene is a classic nitro-musk with a soft, sweet-powdery musky character. It has a warm, slightly animalic and balsamic undertone reminiscent of musk xylene and musk ketone, but rounder and less sharp. Long-lasting and diffusive, it lends a creamy, old-school musky depth to bases.AI · claude-opus-4-7

This Nitro-indan musk represents the transition from the original Benzene-Nitro-musks to the Indan-type musks, most of which are non-nitrated. The material was an almost immediate success, and has grown to become a large-volume, low-cost everyday-use musk in an amazingly short time (in perfume chemical terms). It has the advantage of being much less sensitive to sunlight than the three old Nitromusks, yet being a low-cost, oil-soluble, all-purpose musk. Its soft and sweet odor helps introduce the very desirable creamy powdernote for various types of cosmetic fragrance, and it performs particularly well with the Methyl-ionones for such purpose.
