Descriptors
floralbalsamicnuttywaxy

A fresh, fatty-green aldehydic alcohol with a distinct melon-rind and cucumber facet. It has a slightly waxy, oily character that bridges into aquatic-green territory, useful for lending natural juiciness to melon, violet leaf, and floral accords.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Appearance

Colorless oily liquid.

Solubility

Practically insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol and oils.

Odor

Powerful and very diffusive, waxy-floral odor with balsamic-nutty note and moderate tenacity.

Uses in perfumery

The floral note is not distinctly rosy, nor does it resemble any other flower, and this may be one of the reasons for the lack of acceptance of the title alcohol. The balsamic notes resemble a fortified Opopanax and invite to experiments with Oriental bases, while the nutty note encourages the use of Oakmoss with this alcohol.
