This higher homologue of iso-Jasmone has been suggested for use in perfume compositions. Its tenacity is slightly superior, but its odor type not quite as desirable as the conventional iso-Jasmones. For novel Jasmin notes, for modifications of the pungent-floral theme in bases and finished fragrances, this ketone should have some future, if it were only made freely available.
