A soft, sweet-balsamic material with a gentle cinnamic-floral character — less spicy and less harsh than methyl cinnamate. It has a fruity nuance reminiscent of ripe berries and a light powdery-floral facet that supports oriental, ambery and floral accords.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Colorless viscous liquid. Solidifies in the cold.
Insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol and oils.
Balsamic, sweet-and-dry Ambre type odor of good tenacity. Lighter and slightly fresher than the odor of the n-Propylester.
The flavor of this material is a trifle fresher, more fruity than that of the n-Propylester, but the difference is practically nil in a composition.
Some perfumers prefer this ester to the n-Propylester, but there is very little difference in the effect if one considers the finished composition where the ester may be a 2% or 5% component only.
The material finds a little use in flavor compositions, mainly in imitation Raspberry, Honey, various Berry and fruit complexes, etc. The concentration will be a few ppm in the finished product.
Produced by azzotropic esterification of iso-Propanol with Cinnamic acid.
