Pseudo ionone has a warm, dry woody-violet character with a soft floral undertone reminiscent of iris and orris. Less refined than the alpha/beta ionones themselves, it carries a faint fruity-raspberry facet and a somewhat rough, resinous edge. Primarily used as an intermediate for producing ionones and methylionones, but has a distinct odor of its own.AI · claude-opus-4-7
