A soft, rosy-floral ester with a fresh, slightly fruity lift. Rhodinyl isobutyrate smells like geranium-rose petals with a juicy, pear-like top facet, drying down into a clean, mildly green floral character. Less sharp than rhodinol itself, rounder and more transparent.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Colorless oily liquid.
Delicately fruity, fresh-floral and sweet, tenacious odor. Overall more fresh and delicate than the n-Butyrate, but not as natural rosy or 'petal-like'.
Fruity-floral, intensely sweet taste. Fresher, less deep-heavy than the n-Butyrate at same concentration. More towards Pineapple, less Plum-like.
This ester finds some use in perfume compositions, but not nearly as much as the n-Butyrate. It is used largely in the same type of fragrance but it does not introduce the same deep-rosy tonality. Only in Muguet it may perform as good or even better.
The ester finds a good deal of use in imitation Apple, Pineapple, Pear, Honey, Raspberry, and in various Rose and other 'floral' flavor types. The concentration is normally about 1 to 5 ppm, rarely up to 10 ppm in the finished product.
Produced from Rhodinol and iso-Butyric anhydride.
