A soft rosy-floral ester with a fruity, slightly waxy character reminiscent of rose petals and geranium leaves. The valerate portion adds a gentle fresh-fruity nuance, giving it a natural, dewy rose-geranium feel. Less sharp than rhodinol itself, rounder and more diffusive.AI · claude-opus-4-7

The title ester, by some perfumers preferred over the iso-Valerate, has found a little use in perfume compositions, mainly of the 'Oriental' and Oriental Rose types. Its depth makes it suitable for 'red rose' compositions, and its warm-earthy character blends very well with Oakmoss and Vetiver in a Chypre. It is also an excellent fixative for the terminal notes of Bergamot, likewise in Chypre, and it will support 'tabac' notes in an attractive manner.
Produced from Rhodinol and Valeric acid, by azeotropic esterification.
