A soft, clean floral-herbal material reminiscent of lavender but rounder and less camphoraceous than natural lavandulol. Has a gentle, slightly waxy woody-floral character with a fresh, muguet-like nuance that persists into the drydown.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Uses in perfumery

The importance of Tetrahydrolavandulol never grew very high, and it is again dwindling as a number of new Lavender materials become available.

Production

Produced originally from Methylheptenone, but newer methods were developed until Lavandulol was synthesized directly, and the title material could be obtained by hydrogenation.
