Rosacetol / Rose Oxide-adjacent green-floral aromachemical (Rosestile / trichloromethylphenylcarbinyl acetate). Powerful diffusive gardenia-tuberose character with a fresh, slightly metallic green top and a creamy narcotic white-floral heart. Adds lift and 'wet petal' realism to white florals.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Appearance

White crystalline powder or colorless crystals.

Solubility

Insoluble in water, somewhat soluble in alcohol, soluble in most perfume oils.

Odor

Mild, at first very weak, green-rosy, balsamic odor of excellent tenacity. The odor is much more perceptible when the material is in solution. There is some similarity to the odor of Benzophenone.

Uses in perfumery

The title ester has found wide application in perfume compositions as a fixative in Rose and Geranium compounds, soap fragrances, powder perfumes, etc. because of its excellent stability and fixative effect.

Production

Produced from the carbinol by acetylation with acetylchloride.
