A dry, coniferous wood note reminiscent of pine and cypress with a soft balsamic-resinous undertone. Fresh and slightly green on top, settling into a clean, sappy woody character without the sharpness of true pine needle oils.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Appearance

The solid oil is not quite homogeneous, often grainy in texture. It is very pale yellow to olive-green or of a brown color.

Odor

Its odor is delicately woody, but also rich and sweet, almost floral like nerolidol or cabreuva oil.

Uses in perfumery

Araucaria Oil is an excellent fixative among the groups of so-called fixatives. The oil is also used as a starting material for the isolation of Eudesmol, a sesquiterpene alcohol.
