A delicate white-floral note reminiscent of jasmine tea and chloranthus (pearl orchid) blossoms — soft, honeyed, slightly green with a fresh tea-like facet. Less indolic than jasmine, with a clean, almost aqueous sweetness and a subtle fruity undertone.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Chloranthus spicatus absolute is a yellow to dark amber colored viscous liquid.
Chloranthus spicatus has a delightfully soft, woody-floral odor. The overall odor has a striking resemblance to that of boronia absolute. The topnote is somewhat dry-woody, but it becomes increasingly sweet-balsamic and floral like Peru balsam oil, cassie absolute, and boronia absolute.
Chloranthus spicatus oil blends excellently with violet-leaf-green materials and various other oils such as cardamom oil, cassie absolute, and mimosa absolute.
An absolute is produced from a benzene- or petroleum ether extracted concrete of the flowers. The flowers are also distilled with steam to yield an essential oil.
