Insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol and perfume oils.

Odor

Woody-camphoraceous, somewhat dry and green odor, reminiscent of Cedarwood (American).

Uses in perfumery

Fractions from American Cedarwood oil, rich in Cedrene, are used in perfumery mainly for soaps, household products and in industrial perfumes, masking odors, etc.

Production

Produced by fractionated distillation of Eastern American Cedarwood oil, or from Cedrol by dehydration.
