Crisp, cool pine-forest aroma — bright coniferous topnote with a clean camphoraceous lift, backed by soft balsamic-resinous woodiness. Drier and more austere than Silver Fir, with a slightly sweet green needle character that fades to a pale woody-resinous trail.AI · claude-opus-4-7

Appearance

It is a colorless to very pale yellow or pale olive-yellow, oily liquid, occasionally turbid or opalescent.

Odor

Its odor is refreshingly balsamic, slightly fatty or oily with a powerful pine-forest odor, and a peculiar fruity-balsamic undertone.

Uses in perfumery

The particular odor and aldehydic topnote of this oil makes it an interesting material for use in unconventional perfumery.

Production

This essential oil is steam distilled from the twigs and leaves (needles) of Abies Sibirica.
