YLANG YLANG OIL-COMPLETE 10%

Ylang Ylang Oil Complete is a natural essential oil steam-distilled from the fresh flowers of Cananga odorata; despite occasionally being catalogued as a dilution, it is a neat, undiluted essential oil, not a diluted preparation. In the traditional fractional-distillation grading of ylang ylang, the distiller stops and restarts the still to draw off separate cuts labeled Extra, I, II and III, each collected during a different window of the run and prized or discounted accordingly; "Complete" instead lets the distillation run through from start to finish without interruption, so all of those fractions stay combined in one oil. The result is a fuller, more rounded, more genuinely "whole-flower" ylang ylang than any single cut on its own: a rich, sweet, heady white-floral character with the same jasmine-neroli brightness prized in Extra, but carried by more of the heavier, greener, slightly woody-balsamic material from the later fractions, so it reads as somewhat less refined yet more complete and balanced. Perfumers reach for it in heart to base positions, typically around 0.5-5% of a composition, to anchor white-floral, tropical-floral and ylang-forward accords, and it is a workhorse in soap and functional perfumery, where its lower cost and rounded fullness matter more than the delicacy of Extra.
